In 1976, the Yellow River's lower course
to the Sea was artificially changed at the River mouth
from the north to the east. Since then, a large amount
of mud and sand silts up at the new River mouth and
expands toward the Sea by a 2km distance every year.
This 3-color combinational image presented here reflects
both the new River mouth of an aquiline shape and the
old River mouth of a sector shape, whose raw data were
obtained from a pass of Landsat-5 on May 29, 1995, where
Bands 4, 3 and 2 were assigned to the red, blue and green
color channels, respectively.
